FAQS

What are the different ways I can apply as immigrant to Canada?

There are several pathways leading to being a permanent residence or immigrant to Canada.  These are Family Class, Express Entry, Federal Skilled Workers, Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class, Start-Up Visa, Immigrant Investor Venture Capital Pilot Program, Self-Employed Person and Provincial Nominee Programs.

What are my best chances to migrate to Canada?

Each individual case is unique. Since there are several ways to become an immigrant to Canada, every applicant's qualifications are assessed to determine whether he or she qualifies to any of the immigration programs available.

If I have a relative in Canada willing to sponsor me, do I need to have work experience?

That depends on the degree of relationship between the applicant and the sponsor.  Basically, if the sponsoring relative is an immediate family member the applicant may qualify under family sponsorship and work experience need not be a factor.

What are the criteria to apply to Canada?

The basic criteria common to most of the immigration programs of Canada are as follows: age, level of education, English or French proficiency, foreign work experience, Canadian work experience, arranged employment, provincial nomination, a relative in Canada, proof of funds, medical and criminal records.

How long does an application take?

Under the current express entry system, a qualified applicant may be issued an invitation to apply within one year or less.  The same applies with regards to family sponsorship.  Qualification of an applicant is always the key factor.
